Cabaret Showcase

Event Description

Presented by Queensland Cabaret Foundation in partnership with Brisbane Powerhouse

Come and catch the fresh, the seasoned and the tantalising artists of Queensland cabaret, pulling out their party pieces or trying something daringly new at 2017 Queensland Cabaret Festival’s Cabaret Showcase.

Stepping up to the mic to show off their schtick are Short + Sweet finalists, Cassie George, Matthew Dear, Sophie Bannister and Kat Ryan. There’s comedy cabaret from Jenny Wynter and Janelle Colquhoun and some queer, quirky and quarrelsome love songs sung by Spanish troubadour Sanfeliu.

Also on the menu is a taste tester of the 2017 Cabaret Festival program with Matthew Semple and Daryl Murphy from Blokes in Voice, The Dustbin Hoffmans' duo and a very special appearance by Foxy Moron - Xanthe Jones as her alter ego - Chlorine the Aussie Mermaid.

The evening will be hosted by our very own Really Real Housewife of Surfers Paradise, Mercedes DeLuca-Jones. So come along and see what the future of cabaret looks, feels and tastes like at this smorgasbord of cabaret treats.
