Finding Our Voice: The Story of Women In Voice – Fundraiser

Event Description

Brought to you by WIV Presents… & Queensland Cabaret Foundation

This fundraising event is to be held where it all began at The Sitting Duck Cafe (now Rio Rhythmics Latin Dance Academy)!

Hear the stories, relive the memories and see a host of Women In Voice alumni perform some of your favourites from the 25 years worth of WIV repertoire… A very special event to raise funds for the commemorative Finding Our Voice book – published to co-incide with this year’s season of Women In Voice.

 DON’T HESITATE! TICKETS STRICTLY LIMITED.

“Women in Voice is arguably one of the most successful and enduring institutions in Brisbane. There are no fancy production values here, simply a group of super-talented women performing for an ever-growing crowd of devotees.”  Aussietheatre.com.au

Women in Voice started its journey with an intimate concert at The Sitting Duck cafe in West End in 1993. Now, more than 20 years later, it is arguably the longest constantly running local production in Brisbane’s history and a much-loved feature of our music and theatre landscape.

WIV presents… and The Queensland Cabaret Foundation have joined forces to document the amazing history of Women In Voice by creating a coffee table book called “Finding Our Voice – The story of Women in Voice”. To help celebrate Women in Voice and to support the production of the book, the WIV family are gathering together for this one off event not to be missed.

Performers include: Leah Cotterell, Melissa Western, Alison St Ledger, Alicia Cush, Barb Fordham, Bethan Elsmore, Pearly Black and many more…
