About the Artists

With accordion, exotic strings and percussion, MZAZA embraces diversity, the old and the new, the familiar and the foreign. Their intense live shows have enraptured audiences across Australia and Europe and earned them supports with Baba Zula (Turkey), Violent Femmes (USA) and DJ Click (France).

In 2020, MZAZA is releasing their third studio album, The Birth and Death of Stars which was recorded in Athens. The album explores the disconnect between humans and the world around them through metaphors of Greek mythology, philosophy and astronomy.

MZAZA have received two Queensland Music Awards (2015, 2016), had six tracks Highly Commended (2011, 2015, 2016) and are finalists for  ‘Best Song – World Music’ in the 2020 QMAs.
