Event Description
Hailing from the small town of Allora, Clare Cowley’s musical journey began with sing-alongs around the family piano. Now a Queensland Music Award nominee, Clare’s heartfelt song writing and evocative performances continue to captivate audiences from remote corners of the globe to the bustling city.
Joined by her all-female band The Flames—featuring Julia Bates on harmonies, Skye McNicol on violin, and Kathryn McKee on cello—Clare brings a unique blend of dreamy folk, country and blues to the stage. Her sound is enriched by fingerstyle guitar, smoky harmonica, and stirring piano, all wrapped in raw lyrical storytelling.
As part of the Qld Cabaret Festival at The Old Museum, Clare Cowley & The Flames will debut their much-loved ballad Paint Death—a highlight of their live shows—now officially released ahead of Clare’s third full-length album Synthetic Lover, due April 2026.
Having supported Australian music icons such as Neil Murray, Clare Cowley continues to carve her own path, offering performances that are at once intimate, magnetic and deeply human.
This show has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control.
